Hand–Eye Coordination
Lacing Beads are a foundational Infant Toddler material designed to strengthen early coordination of movement.
The child threads large wooden beads onto a cord, guiding the string through each opening with deliberate control. The movement requires both hands to work together — one stabilising the bead, the other guiding the lace.
Unlike decorative craft-based lacing, this activity is purposeful and repetitive. The child refines movement through concentration and repeated attempts. Each successful thread builds accuracy and control.
For toddlers, this type of work supports independence by preparing the hand for later practical life tasks such as buttoning, dressing, and utensil use. It also lays groundwork for later writing preparation through strengthening of small muscle groups in the hand.
The tray presentation keeps the work contained and orderly, supporting the child’s growing sense of structure.
Prepare a complete 2–3 years environment.
